ABOUT GREEN LION ARTS STUDIO

Green Lion Arts Studio is a welcoming home-based art studio located in Barrie, Ontario. Founded in 2012 by professional artist and art instructor Mariya Blyznyuk, the studio offers thoughtfully designed art classes and creative workshops for young artists, teenagers, adults, and families. Our programs include drawing, acrylic and oil painting, mixed media, and Ukrainian folk art. Students receive professional instruction in a supportive small-group environment, with programs available for both beginners and more advanced artists.

CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Green Lion Arts Studio offers weekly art classes as well as a wide variety of seasonal and themed workshops.  Our workshops are designed for adults looking for a creative and relaxing experience, parents and children who would like to create together, young artists developing their foundational skills, and advanced students ready to explore more challenging techniques and materials.

Each workshop combines clear step-by-step instruction with opportunities for personal expression. Art materials are included unless otherwise stated in the program description.

OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

We believe that art education should develop both strong artistic skills and creative independence. Students learn how to observe, understand colour, build compositions, explore different materials, and express their own ideas with confidence. Instruction is adapted to each student’s age, experience, and artistic goals. Our studio encourages curiosity, focus, self-expression, and respect for each person’s individual creative journey. The emphasis is on learning and personal growth rather than comparison or competitio

STUDIO HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

Green Lion Arts Studio is a home-based studio with intentionally small class sizes. The number of participants may vary depending on the age group, program, and type of workshop.
To maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for everyone, please observe the following guidelines.

Animals & Allergies
Pets are not permitted in the studio. If a student requires a service animal, please contact the studio in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be discussed.
Some children and adult students have animal allergies, and classes are often scheduled back-to-back.

Food Allergies
Please do not bring peanuts, tree nuts, or foods containing them into the studio. Some students have serious allergies and may carry emergency medication.

Shoes
Outdoor shoes must be removed before entering the studio area. If this is difficult because of a disability or mobility limitation, please contact the studio in advance. Shoe covers can be provided.

Students & Guests
Classes are limited to registered students. Parents, family members, friends, and other guests may not remain in the studio during class unless this has been arranged in advance.
Parents attending a registered parent-and-child workshop are considered participants.
If a student requires a support person or another disability-related accommodation, please contact the studio before the class so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Health & Accessibility
Please inform the studio in advance of any serious allergies, medical concerns, or accessibility requirements that may affect participation.

Students experiencing fever, vomiting, or symptoms of a contagious illness should not attend class. Please contact the studio as soon as possible to discuss an available make-up class.

ATTENDANCE & MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY

Monthly tuition reserves the student’s place in their scheduled group.

If a student must miss a class because of illness, a medical appointment, an important school event, or a family emergency, Green Lion Arts Studio may offer a make-up class in another available group.

Make-up classes must be arranged with the studio in advance, are subject to available space, and must be completed within the same calendar month.

Missed classes are not refundable, cannot be deducted from a future invoice, and cannot be transferred to the following month.

If Green Lion Arts Studio cancels a class, an alternative class, credit, or other appropriate arrangement will be provided.

PAYMENT POLICY

Regular monthly tuition is due by the 1st day of each month.

For new registrations or students joining during the month, payment is due within two business days of receiving the invoice and must be received before the student’s next scheduled class.

Payment confirms and reserves the student’s place in the group. If payment is not received by the due date, participation in classes will be paused until the outstanding balance has been paid. An unpaid space may be offered to another student.

Registration for a workshop is confirmed only after full payment has been received.

Class fees cover professional instruction, lesson preparation, art materials, and the student’s reserved place in the program. Timely payment allows the studio to plan lessons, purchase materials, and maintain an organized schedule for all students.

If an unexpected situation may prevent you from paying on time, please contact the studio before the payment deadline.
