Art Studio Adult Workshops offer you the opportunity to get together for community and creativity. Master Class Oil Painting for Adults take two forms – Large Canvas projects with 2 or more people or smaller canvas 16″X20″ or art projects or parties ranging from oil painting, acryl, water color and more.

Family Art Workshops are creative activity sessions led by artists. Inspired by our program, activities include everything from making simple hand crafts, to painting your own masterpieces using various painting techniques.

These drop-in activities are open to all but are especially suitable for families with children aged 5 – 16. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

This course provides a solid foundation for anyone who wants to build confidence in their artistic skills. Teens (11+) and adults work side by side in a welcoming studio environment, exploring the essentials of academic drawing.

We start with simple forms — spheres, cylinders, and cubes — and gradually move on to more complex subjects: everyday objects, plaster casts, portraits, and figure sketches. Along the way, students develop their understanding of the 7 key principles of drawing:

• contour (line)

• gesture (movement and action)

• proportion (relationships in size)

• perspective (depth)

• positive and negative space

• texture (surface qualities)

• value (light and dark)

Students will practice shading, pencil and charcoal techniques, and learn to create realistic textures such as animal fur, fabric, and hair. The course includes both quick gesture sketches and longer, more developed studies.

This program is ideal for beginners as well as those who want to strengthen their skills and progress toward more advanced areas such as portraiture, animation, graphic design, painting, or sculpture.

Above all, the focus is on enjoying the creative process, gaining confidence, and receiving encouragement at every step.

The Intermediate Art program is focused on developing fundamental art skills. Courses include classical drawing, acrylic painting, watercolour painting, portrait drawing and painting, colour theory, and composition.

In this after school session, we will focus on fun, introductory and creative concepts of painting. Kids will learn some of the fundamentals of artistic development explore acrylic paint and water colours and have fun exploring texture to bring dimension to their artwork.

Sessions begin at 3:30 pm and run until 5:15 pm. All of our Creative Kids will receive a sketch book and pencils for their session.
